Learn How to tackle Examinations!

If you had followed the tips in the 'Study' page, you won't find it difficult when it comes to exams. Once you have got the good study habits, you will find that most information taught by the teacher is already in your brain and you do not need to cram up the night before your exam.

But there are still some tips that may help you to be a good fighter in the exam:

  • know your exam syllabus. You should know beforehand what will be tested and what will not.
  • plan early. Start to organize your revision 1-2 weeks before a test, at least 1 month before a normal school exam, and 3 months before an important public exam.
  • use your timetable to help you. Actually you should use it throughout your school term, but it is particularly useful when you are planning your revision for exam. Plan in detail which chapter or which topic of the subject are you going to revise in each session (e.g. 22/5 evening: Chemistry-Plastics and polymers)
  • be very clear and familiar with the topics and subtopics in a certain subject. You can use a tree diagram to help you. This can help you retrieve information in a systematic way, just like retrieving your clothes from different drawers in different wardrobes.

Remember to...

Review the tips in 'Study' before you read the exam tips.
